grant

ZCG grant for Open Wallet Standard

Zcash Community Grants funds the integration of Zcash into the Open Wallet Standard, backed by PayPal, Circle, Solana Foundation, and 15+ others. Zcash becomes the first privacy chain in OWS, with shielded PCZT signing via Zipher.

release

@cipherpay/x402 and @cipherpay/mcp published

Two npm packages ship: @cipherpay/x402 — HTTP 402 paywall middleware for shielded ZEC micropayments — and @cipherpay/mcp — an MCP server so AI agents can create invoices, check rates, and manage payments programmatically.

launch

CipherPay goes live

CipherPay launches as a non-custodial Zcash payment processor. Shielded Orchard trial decryption, ~5-second mempool detection, merchant dashboard, hosted checkout, and webhook integrations — like Stripe, but for Zcash.

grant

ZCG Grant #179 accepted for CipherScan

The Zcash Community Grants committee funds CipherScan infrastructure — wallet scanner, API v2, privacy index, and ZSA readiness.

release

Rust indexer, gRPC, and WebSocket push deployed

Replaced the CipherScan Node.js indexer with a Rust engine processing 1000+ tx/s. Added Zebra gRPC streaming and WebSocket push infrastructure. Block detection dropped from ~30s to under 1s.

release

First browser-native Zcash memo decryption

Shipped the first frontend WASM-powered Zcash transaction decoder. Shielded memos decrypted entirely in the browser — no server, no keys ever leave the device.

hackathon

CipherScan built at Zypherpunk — won 4 tracks

CipherScan was built from zero to a working Zcash block explorer at the Zypherpunk hackathon — the world’s first Zcash privacy hackathon. Won four tracks: Project Tachyon, Gemini, Raybot, and Network State.
